Ulla von Brandenburg

'Bear Tamer IV' / Edition

Following her performance project with us in 2016, Ulla von Brandenburg is the first artist in our new series of limited edition artworks, launched as part of our tenth anniversary.

‘Carnival I-III ‘and ‘Bear Tamer I-IV’ are seven unique paper cut outs, made by von Brandenburg especially for The Common Guild. The works reference von Brandenburg’s interest in carnival celebrations and fairground activities as a form of social transgression.

The cut outs are made by hand using found paper, a technique that she has used in a number of other works.

Dimensions (unframed): 47 x 30cm

These works are also available framed (see images of 'Carnival I' framed here). Please allow two weeks for framing.

Please contact [email protected] for more information about the work.

Ulla von Brandenburg (b. Karlsruhe, Germany, 1974) lives and works in Paris. She presented ‘Sink Down Mountain, Rise Up Valley’ with The Common Guild in 2016 and ‘Neue Alte Welt’ in 2011.
